Ron Marich retired!

Ron and his family enjoying the retirement celebration!
Ron was hired on May 22, 1961 and spent the next 53 years working for Coca-Cola Bottling of the Lehigh Valley.  His first job was sending empty cases of glass bottles to the bottle washer.  Within six months, he was promoted to the bottle filler machine and eventually his job encompassed setting up production for the bottling department.   Not only did he have to start up the water treatment center but he also had to break up the clinkers for the coal fed stoker furnace.  During this time, we produced Bottoms-Up, a chocolate-flavored drink, that Ronnie had to run through the Chocolate Retort Machine for pasteurization.

In 1963, Ronnie had the privilege of meeting some of the new owners, Ronald Adams as well as the Bitzer family and the Taylor family.

In 1967, Ronnie moved to the Pre-mix department.  His job was to take a truck, with no doors on it at the time, through the city and deliver the pre-mix to a vending company.  He stayed on in the Pre-mix department for the next 37 years.  In 2004, Ronnie transferred to a fork lift position in the production department where he remained until his retirement on February 14, 2014.

Happy birthday as well Ronnie!
Ronnie's plans for his retirement are to spend time with his family and take a few excursions with his wife.  We wish you the best Ronnie and thank you!
